Adna Schools.

Twenty-six Freshmen braved the perils of their first
year in high school and came through with flying colors.
By placing many of its members in school activities
such as band, athletics, drill team, and glue club, the group
showed that it could quickly adjust to liirli school routine.
Led by President John Long, tlie class followed the more
or less established tradition that lflreslnnen should listen
and learn about school government, liul oi is a certainty that
this active group will play a dominant role in future school
government activities.
Other than class parties, the only :lea ivity sponsored lay

Give AHS'ers First Rate Pep Staff
Adna's pep staff, Bernice Mohoric, Lois Orloske, Jackie Young, Yvonne Unterwegner, and
Jackie Carroll, rate 15 rah-s from the entire Adna student body.
Q These girls not only planned, organized, and executed their yells and songs perfectly, but pro-
vided cheerful pep leadership throughout the entire year. The fact that the three non-graduating
members were re-elected for next year speaks for the popularity of the group.
Both yell queens, Bernice and Lois, have served three years as pep leaders. Yvonne Unterweg-
ner, song queen, has served three years, and Jackie Young has served two terms. Jackie Carroll,
the only newcomer to the group is a Freshman. The entire group boasts a total of 12 years experi-
ence on the pep staff.

high in praise for the co-operativeness of the group in presenting the play.
The play told the story of col-

Strong in every department, the
Pirates will be the terror of the Lewis
County League.
9 9
South-paw speedball artist, C. LeRoy
Scott, will give opposing batters plenty
to swing at . . . plenty of air that is.
The Pirate hitting department is
potent . . . in their first league game
against- Pe E11 every Pirate starter got
a hit.
The infield boasts such veterans as
T. Smith and L. Olson . . . newcomers
to the infield are R. Sayler and R. Rich-
ardson.
Outfields J. Stafford, G. Richter and
A. Waltar, give the team great defen-
sive power. All in all, the Adonians
show tremendous promise.
