The frr st meeting of the new year was called to order on September
10 1948 by President Veil Abbott Other officers included Secretary Vera
Young Treasurer Vrrgrnra Hamrl Sergeant at Arms Lours Crollr and Vice-
Presrdent Bernard Patch
The Student Body tackled as its first business of the year the prob
lem of obtarnrng new scenery tor the st rge Committees were appointed
and grven the power to purchase new sccnerx At a later meeting the A H
S B voted to purchase a new dat enport and chair for use rn the Junior
and Senior Plays
Other business and tr ansactrons during the vear
1 Adult season tickets were made and sold for basketball games only
2 The School Board bought a new American Iflag for the auditorium
3 Verl Abbott Bernard Patch and Beulah Adolphsen were sent as
delegates to the Unrwersrtv of Washington to attend the High School Lead
ers Conference
4 We bought a second place football trophy
0 We purchased an electric scoreboard tor the gx nr using the money
we made fr om the Cui tis Magazine Sale plus some from the treasury
6 We decided to lrne the trophy case with blue xelyet
7 Marlene Mar th and Ronald Duncan were sent as representatives to
Olympra as Mr Cory s guests They toured the Capitol and surrounding
burldrngs Up to the trrne the Adonran went to press seven Student Body
