Red came here just in time for football, and soon showed himself the man for captain. For several months, he spent his weekends studying, but the call of Connecticut College proved too strong. He also rates near the top in his studies, and will probably have a long and successful career in the Coast Guard. ,I Alvin T. Stubel Slaughter, Stubie Naval Academy. Company C, 2nd P. Never a dull moment is the expression Written all over Stubie's countenance. A two-year man, his constant aid to the rookies was deeply appreciated. Could have given a course in how to arrange breakfast in bed, soapboxing, phrase-coining, and Baxter-baiting. Stubie was always in the thick of the fun, and a darn good sport. Good student, and athlete, he was voted the most versatile.

Nevertheless, his presence here as gunnery officer was felt by all. His activities also reached into the field of dramatics, where he aided school plays as property man. He was also an editor on the school paper. Our daily letter writer, also. Company Ag I 1 Coast Guard Academy. Football '38, Glee Club '38p Yearbook '38g Oh, I know-use substitution. is ever present, and helped to elect him the cadet in his class. He didn't miss a single on the football field throughout the season. on the drum were appreciated by the boys' laments the fact that he never marched with than on X duty. Likes to Walk -around in polished riding boots to show the sailors all they're missing. A truly swell guy.

A top-notcher from New lersey, Bob is a quiet easy- going chap, and they don't make them better. After penetrat- ing his solitude, you find and value the clever wit he pos- sesses, especially if you are the object of his remarks. In spite of his handsomeness, Bob is not a ladies' man. Or- ganizer of the Scots -and one of the editors of the Wheel Watch. D. Our excellent senior cadet, Rad even looked the position, maintaining serious dignity in public life, though he had many ways of relaxing with his friends. His school spirit and popularity rates high. His knife-like drives into the opposition in football made him known as the fifth man in the opponents backfield. Punner extraordinaire, chief money- raiser for the Admiral, and other things too numerous to mention.
