JOHN JAMES GRACI,
HARRIS BOONE LINDSAY
Scholarship Club
The Scholarship Club, the purpose of which is to raise tlIe morale of the
students and to build up interest in a high type of school work, is one of the most
valuable institutions ever installed in the Oak Cliff High School.
The Scholarship list, which Varies from time to time, is made up from report
cards which are issued at the end of each six weeks. and all students with an aver-
age of 90 with no grade below 80 for the given division are entitled to have their
names on the list. All students having an average of 90 with no grades below 80
for the year lIave their names recorded on the year list and receive a one-year
Linz Award. Those students having a four-year average of 90 with no grade be-
low 80 receive a four-year Linz Pin. An Everts, Award is given for a four-year
average of 80 with no grade below 80.
This club is the only one in Oak Cliff that enjoys many parties and good
times without the payment of dues. The Parent-Teachers' Association of Oak
Cliff High School gives the Scholarship Club an annual Christmas party, and it is
not an unusual occurrence for them to serve refreshments at the meetings at the
end of the six weeks. The P. T. A. also gives a cash prize to the underclassmen
making the highest term average. Last year one award was presented in June, but
this year two awards are to be presented: one at the end of each semester.
The Oak Cliff High School Scholarship Club has been made the largest in
Dallas through the untiring efforts of Miss Harris, Miss Hammock, Miss Bell,
Miss Hamilton, and Mrs. Bramlette.
