OFFICERS 1959-60 Darlene Shappek Leroy Roberts . . Fran Smiach . . Ruth Ann Yeager . Vice-President . . . President . . . Secretary . . . Treasurer Class History One of the main objectives of every class upon entering A.S.H. is to earn enough money in four years to take a trip to Washington, D.C. in their Senior year. Let's see how the Class of 1960 realized this objective and reached D.C, Our Freshman year saw us sponsoring our first Skating Party which was termed a 'big success and was very encouraging. Our money-making ventures in our Sophomore and Junior, years were not quite as successful but, nevertheless, no one will ever forget the Sample Fair, the Junior Play, or the Junior- Senior Prom which were all sponsored by us in our Junior year. This year found us selling anything from 50 chances to $7.25 boxes of candy but thanks to all who helped us, especially our advisor during the first half of the year, Mr. Philip Baldacchino, we earned enough for our Senior trip and a Senior banquet. Upon graduating, we, the Seniors of 1960, wish good luck and every success to the FUTURE Senior of Adams-Summerhill High School. 32 Underclassmen ■ i—— JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS President. . , Vice President Secretary . . The MIRAGE. Planning pictures, identifying them, and writing copy are only a few of the many jobs connected with producing a school annual. Financing the yearbook is a major job and is accomplished by selling ads and secur- ing donations from patrons. The MIRAGE is the result of hard work on the part of the staff, the officers, and the advisor. Their efforts are considered well worthwhile, however, if you, the students, teachers, administration, and alumni, enjoy our creation--the 1960 MIRAGE. 44 ROW ONE: J. Miller, J. Penrod, S. Tuiiy, J. Farewel The time has come for the Senior Class of 1960 to say farewell. As we look back on our high school years, we finally believe the much-repeated statement of our parents and teachers-- Your high school years are the best years of your life. The things we've learned in high school will remain with us the rest of our lives. As we leave Adams-Summerhill High we wish to thank our teachers and administrators for their guidance and instruction throughout our high school career. We only hope that their efforts, on our behalf, will not be in vain. The Senior Class Acknowledgement The 1960 MIRAGE was made possible through the cooperation of many people. We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the Administration, Faculty, and our advisor, Mr. Stein, for their aid in making this year's yearbook a success. We are also grateful for the excellent photography of Cover Studios, our ad- vertisers, subscribers, and patrons who contributed most generously. The editor would like to extend her personal thanks to Miss Florence Wissinger whose help with many miscellaneous items throughout the year was indispensable and very much appreciated. Thanks Floss.
