In comparing our school of today with our school of yesteryear, we find quite a change. From the school of seventy-six students and two teachers to the capacity of students and teachers of today, we have come a long way. Adams-Summerhill Joint High School was then called the Salix Academy. It was estab- lished in 1906, and the first commencement took place in 1909. The first athletic team was a baseball team consisting of Juniors and Seniors. A Glee Club was another feature that provided beneficial entertainment. Today our school has greatly improved. We have methods far reaching from those of earlier times. Not only has our capacity of students and teachers increased, but our methods of teaching are different and improved. We have many activities consisting of baseball, football, and bas- ketball teams. We have different organizations such as: The Adamsonian, Student Council, National Honor Society, Band, and The Mirage. All of these help to improve our school and provide interest to the students. We also have professional acts and movies which appear at the school. All of these elements combined together make our school an educational, prosperous, and enjoyable one.
