In later years we hope it will recall pleasant mem- ories of your college days in 1953-1954. We express our thanks to Dr. Meyer for advice, encouragement, and help in preparing this EL CONQUISTADOR. We also thank Allan Johnson and Ed Vallejo for assisting the staff photographer. THE STAFF Table of Contents Dedication Faculty Classes Organizations Honors Sports Campus Life ELLIOTT S. STONG, M.D. To you, Dr. Stong, we, the Staff of EL CONQUISTADOR, dedicate this 1954 edition. In this small way we wish to express our appreciation for your contribution to the health of our students and faculty—for the times you have willingly given up an evening at home to come to the bedside of one of us who was ill—for your un- selfish devotion to our sports program—and for your smile and friendliness which have endeared you to us and made you a part of Adams State College. “The actions of men are the best interpreters of their thoughts.” Between the two covers of this yearbook, one finds epitomized the activities of another school year. One year, five years, ten years hence you can open this book and reminisce with former faculty members, old friends and classmates. Life is richer just because of the friends we have made. My sincere thanks to the EL CONQUISTADOR staff for planning and giving the students and faculty at Adams State College this excellent yearbook. Congratula- tions on your splendid work.
