I-IONOR SOCIETY
Membership in the Honor Society is the highest mark of distinction to be
gained within the college community. Present members now in the College
are: David Walker, Neva Anderson, Alice Wright, Ardell lensen, Dale Lori-
mer, Clara Curtis, Floyd Baskette, and Vaughn Swift.
The purpose of the Society, sponsored by President Richardson, is to bring
about recognition of scholastic achievement and good citizenship within the
student body. Each year a few new members, who appear to uphold the
high ideals of the organization, are elected to the Society. The impressive
initiation of new members into the Honor Society takes place each year on
Designation Day, the last assembly held during the academic year.
The faculty first chose members to the Society on Iune 3, l93O. Since that
time the Society has continued to function in holding up the ideals of the col-
lege and has continued to count among its members the leaders of the student
body.

The A Club consists of those students Who have been outstanding for three
consecutive quarters in athletics, dramatics, or music. The principal activity of
the Club was the sponsoring of Homecoming Day, when a football game was
held between Adams State and New Mexico Teachers College in the afternoon,
and a formal dance was held in the evening honoring the alumni and the New
Mexico Teachers' football team.
The chief social activity of the A Club occurred in the spring quarter when
the annual picnic was given for the members and their invited guests.
