The positive influence of the three seniors on the rest of the squad made this team a pleasure to coach. My only regret is that all of them can't return and play for a couple of more years. Even without them I look forward to a good thing from the returning underclassmen. The team as a unit improved drastically and I know that we can pick up from where we left off. This is especially true because of the dedication of my assistant coach John Ropheleau, whose contribution cannot be measured. Coach. Tom Bradley as' X K an IFQ 910 First row: Left to right: D. They set for their goal the raising of enough money to take the whole music department to the District Music Festival at Grand Junction Colorado. This goal was met through the assistance of the newly formed Parents Music Booster Club. ln addition to this project many of the students were participants at Solo and Ensemble Contests this past Spring and received excellent ratings. All of the bands and choirs competed at big group festivals and gave numerous concerts during the school year. Those students who have been active members in band or choir for an entire school year become eligible for a Music letter, which is awarded at the end of the year. 2 TERRI RONA CASAS-Captain LOVATO VARSITY HEERLE DERS MICKEY MAYBERRY CINDY MUNIZ FROM TOP TO BOTTOM: RONA LOVATO LISA NELSON DAWN MUSKE CINDY STECKLEIN MICKEY MAYBERRY TERI CASAS-Head DAYNA WELCH CINDY MUNIZ 5, FROM TOP TO BOTTOM THERESA KLINGENSMITH TERRI ADKINS TERRY CASSILY-Head KIM CANDELARIE ELAINE COLLINS BRENDA BROMLEY PAM FLECK Top: LouAnne Brassel, Rose Ortiz, Melaine McKee Cheadj Bottom: Kelly Gimer, Linda McAIexander. OF VIRGINIA The "social studies" are defined as that portion of the curriculum which deals specifically with men and women in dynamic relation to their physical and social environment. Social studies are concerned with a knowledge of how people are influ- enced by their environment, how they use the environment to satisfy individual and group needs, how customs and institutions have emerged: how people attempt to solve current problems: and how they draw upon their experiences to plan a future. Social studies provide opportunity for each individual to obtain knowl- edge, appreciation, standards, values, experience, acquire skills in atti- tudes, toward human interrelations for people to function effectively as individuals and as members of groups within society. - Carl Hays 175 1, w f 3 E GLISH I TWO OE The first duty of a high school is to teach discernment, not a tradei character, not technicalities.
