In my eyes it was a successful year which was mostly due to the sincere enthusiasm and support of you, the students. So many changes have passed by us and it was a year of fun and learn- ing especially on my part. You've made my work easier and enjoy- able and I feel very proud to have represented you. You've given so much of yourselves that I hate to ask for more but please do me a favor and remember that this was a good year, in one way or an- other, and that you have helped to make my year the best I'll ever know. I love you all in my own way and I'll always be grateful. Thanks for being the great people you are. Cindy Smith HE D GIRL 0 . Q, ,X .Q-lx . SSA -fu: K. I have had the opportunity to meet a number of different people, work withbvarious organizations, and the satisfaction of accom- plishing things . . . no matter how small they may have been, The greatest advantage of hold- ing this office is the fact that I have learned a great deal from the experience. Working with the administrators, faculty members, as well as fellow students has pro- vided me with a great deal of knowledge, more than I could a- chieve from a text book. Holding the office has not been a banquet of roses. With roses comes thorns, and often times things would not work out as they were supposed to but I somehow found it in me to not give up. There were times during the year when I felt I could touch the sky and times when my chin was on the ground . . . but ifI had the chance, I would be more than happy to relive this year and its experiences. DISTRICT 19414 MOUNTAINEERING PROGRAM The former A.C. Mountaineering Club has been reorganized under the auspices of the recreation department to include Junior High as well as High School participation. The change has made for an even more challenging and interesting role for experienced High School students, who aid in recruiting and instructing younger moun- taineers as well as organizing expeditions. The program is moving into high gear, with ex- panding participation in the first three trips this semester and a total of at least twelve trips planned for the year. The purchase of new ropes, N tents, light weight stoves, and snow-shoes gives the program an enlarged capability for Winter camping. Execursions are divided into three categories for beginners, intermediate, and advanced. Most trips last two days, but one or two four-day outings are included in the schedule each year. if ' 'mv 7 .af 1 1 ,ff is: my U, T W ,Fi 1 , ji' Q 1 ' , A 525, SHS wi?
