Are Typical of English Students With English classes meeting four times each week, twice for eighty min¬ utes and twice for forty, A.C. English students had their hands full this year. Mrs. Grove kept the seniors ' pencils moving as many could be seen hurriedly scribbling their final ink copy of some literature or comp assignment. Mr. Roth drilled the juniors in the lives of American authors and also led the speech class in a televised Laugh-In” called Chuckleberry A.C.H.S. Guided by Mrs . Wilks, sophomores tried their hands at a term paper, and in the freshman class Miss Rimmel steered her pupils toward better English. Got you! Steve Bieberich and Scott Bas¬ sett act out a pantomime for English. The sign? Oh, yeah. Mr. Roth ' s and Mrs. Grove ' s Sanitation Dep ' t TRUCK. Chuckleberry had everything . . . Teaching correct pronunciation was an important function of the language lab. Foreign Languages Broaden Scope of Students Expanding vistas, widening points - of-view--these are reasons for studying foreign languages . Enabling A.C. stu¬ dents to learn about the cultures of Spain, Mexico, and France, Miss Wil¬ liamson and Mrs. Phipps combined classwork, lab exercises, and accounts of personal experiences while they taught.
