Off the Track was a play dealing with the difficulties of stalled railroad passengers. The setting was in a waiting room of a small wayside railroad station on a dark stormy night. A s!range mixture of people were thrown together when a fast train was derailed and the passengers came inside to waif for a relief train. Members of ihe class who appeared in the play were: John Liby as Bill, a handsome law student; Earl Yoder as Bill ' s good-natured friend; Anna Inniger, Mary Ellen Byerly, and Alice Yoder, all as college girls with lots of pep; David Nussbaum as the hen-pecked Willie, fiance of possessive Evalina, played by Mary Ellen Schnepp; Fannie Hebegger as Pidgie McDougel, a curious old maid interested in the contents of a bag guarded by the hard-of-hearing Pazenby, Donald Walters in real life. In lhe play Gloria Crownover is a wealthy and haughty Mrs. Vandernevter; Pauline Schwartz plays an Italian matron; Antonia, her twelve-year-old daughter, is played by Pat Arnold. Lester Schwartz is an illiterate and amusing station attendant, Silas Doblins; and Dale Warthman is the unamused station clerk. Page Nineteen

(Front row seated): Diana Crist, Ronnie Stucky, Clifford Hirschy, Danny Gerber. BAND AND DRUM MAJORETTE CORP A band was organized this year by Merle Goble, the new music leacher. Mr. Goble started with an eight-piece band but now has seventy-five band members, twenty twirlers, four of them are in high school, and twenty-four song flutes from the fourth grade. The band played for all the home basketball games and the spring county festival. Adams Central now has one of the largest school bands in the county.
