SEN IOR ANNUAL as clean fast plase1s who were always 1n the 'fame A much better showmg would haxe been made but f0l h fact that the team lacked the funds necessaly to carry on the game after Februar5 1 The team play ed several games away f1om home after th1s but were defeated not because of the superlorlty of thelr opponents lux because of thelr lack of practlce due to not havmg a cou1t on whlch to practlce Ol play The team played one of the hardest schedules m the h1s tory of the school playmg such schools as Adams Flack Rlver and Sandy Creek where thelr opponents cle much heavler and had mo1e and better coachmg due to thelr be 1ng located 1n much larger places The games nlax ed w 1th the local towm team were fast close games and wl1ethe1 the school or the1r opponents were golng to w1n was always a questlon to the final wh1stle The team was well balanced and for the mos part con tamed players who were xeterans of two O1 th1ee s '1 ons best to w1n for h1s school The team was coached by Nell Mahaney of the local town team who 1S a fast clean player and an excellmt coach and Mr Webb coach of Adams Hlgh School lt IS hoped that the finances wlll be 1n better shape next year so that a regular coach may be hxred The team thxs wear was made up of George Gxeene capt'11n Pl.ll1lQl Fleene Gerald Greene Marshall Harr1s Joe Eastman H11 old Farr W1ll1e Hunt and Douglas Rogers manager Newt xears team promlses to be handlcapped bv the loss of all but two of 1ts regular play ers The play ers lost are Farr and Rogers by graduatlon and Palmer Greene and Gerald Greene by leax 1ng school and Marshall Harr1s bx trans ferrlng to another school One great trouble thlS year was the lack of support of the townspeople to the games The team would haxe played a better brand of ball lf they could haxe felt that the whole town was 1n back of them It lS hoped that next season buslness w1ll be better so that the people w1ll be able to support the team We hope that next year the team w1l1 be able to lease the hall and also meet all ex penses so that they max play a full season Such IS the close of one of the best seasons from an athletlc standpomt ever expemenced at Adams Center 34 1' .'.' 7 1 v v v . 7 .
