SEN IOR ANNUAL
as clean fast plase1s who were always 1n the 'fame A
much better showmg would haxe been made but f0l h
fact that the team lacked the funds necessaly to carry on
the game after Februar5 1 The team play ed several
games away f1om home after th1s but were defeated not
because of the superlorlty of thelr opponents lux because
of thelr lack of practlce due to not havmg a cou1t on whlch
to practlce Ol play
The team played one of the hardest schedules m the h1s
tory of the school playmg such schools as Adams Flack
Rlver and Sandy Creek where thelr opponents cle much
heavler and had mo1e and better coachmg due to thelr be
1ng located 1n much larger places The games nlax ed w 1th
the local towm team were fast close games and wl1ethe1
the school or the1r opponents were golng to w1n was always
a questlon to the final wh1stle
The team was well balanced and for the mos part con
tamed players who were xeterans of two O1 th1ee s '1 ons
best to w1n for h1s school
The team was coached by Nell Mahaney of the local
town team who 1S a fast clean player and an excellmt
coach and Mr Webb coach of Adams Hlgh School lt
IS hoped that the finances wlll be 1n better shape next year
so that a regular coach may be hxred The team thxs wear
was made up of George Gxeene capt'11n Pl.ll1lQl Fleene
Gerald Greene Marshall Harr1s Joe Eastman H11 old Farr
W1ll1e Hunt and Douglas Rogers manager Newt xears
team promlses to be handlcapped bv the loss of all but
two of 1ts regular play ers The play ers lost are Farr and
Rogers by graduatlon and Palmer Greene and Gerald
Greene by leax 1ng school and Marshall Harr1s bx trans
ferrlng to another school
One great trouble thlS year was the lack of support of
the townspeople to the games The team would haxe
played a better brand of ball lf they could haxe felt that
the whole town was 1n back of them It lS hoped that
next season buslness w1ll be better so that the people w1ll
be able to support the team We hope that next year the
team w1l1 be able to lease the hall and also meet all ex
penses so that they max play a full season
Such IS the close of one of the best seasons from an
athletlc standpomt ever expemenced at Adams Center
