Aiid a new day will dawn For those who stand long And the forests w ill echo with laughter. Andris we wind on down the road. Our shadows taller than our souls; There walks a lady we all know ho shines white light and wants to show How everything still turns to gold. And. if you listen very hard. The tune w ill come to you at last; VX hen all are one and one is all. To he a rock and not to roll. Stairway to Heaven Class wills and prophecies were read by Chem Elings, Teresa Young, Mark Whetstone, and Brenda Warner. Guest speakers from the faculty were Mr. Dale Witt and Mr. Steve Stafford. 64 After the usual confusion, prom was a success. The juniors chose the theme “Stairway to Heaven” and started work on memory books, napkins, invitations, and servers’ outfits. The shop boys built a spiral staircase that went in the middle of the dance floor. Roman type pillars, a fountain, borrowed bridge and lawn furni- ture completed the entryway. Blue, silver, and white streamers decorated the dance floor. The band, Hot Jam. set up on the stage. After the dance many people headed to the movie, Silver Streak, at Atlantic. Throughout the halls, different trends appear during the day. This year, there were quite a few new fads. Pictured here are some of them. On this page, going clockwise, starting at the top, are the ever-popular rugby- striped shirts. In the next picture are the windows that got broken during the fall. They were boarded up, in- stead of replaced. A neck displays a star necklace and in the next picture is what was probably the biggest craze of all at school: double-pierced ears. On the opposite page, from the top lefthand picture, going clockwise, girls are wearing overalls or suspenders. In the next pic- ture, they are wearing painter pants. Caterpiller shoes and turquois jewelry are worn by both girls and guys at A-C. In the next picture, you can see that a large number of girls spent their hard-earned money on boots this year, but they all agreed that they got their money’s worth out of them. and Fads! Hi4% at A- C Above picture: A lot of kids at A-C purchased T-shirts with pictures and or names of their fav- orite rock groups on them. Going clockwise, pictured is the A-C jazz band. This was at their concert in February. Next, are some of the top albums of the year. At the bottom of the page is a demonstration of the “BUMP”-a popular dance. Top Group: Kiss Favorite Album: Kiss Alive In the above picture, you see an avid music fan, listening to his stereo with headphones on. Be- low, is the KISS ALIVE album. It was voted as the top album of the year at A-C. There was a poll taken in January to see what the students felt were their favorites in music. In the right- hand column of this page, you can see the re- sults. As you come to the close of the A-C yearbook, the staff hopes you found our theme “Adair-Casey’s Greatest Hits” to be worthwhile. In years to come we hope you find it interesting to look back and see what the latest sayings, fads, and hit songs were in 1977. The staffs goal is to recreate life at A-C as memorably as possible in our 120 pages. We hope you have enjoyed remembering with us.—M.E. 120
