Coaches' comment on the 72-73 football season--Head Coach Hornung Our record of 3-6 is not an indication of the team. It was a season of pride and determination. Rome was not built in one day, and this is true of any good athletic program. I feel these young men have established a tradition of a quitter neve - wins and a winner never quits. Coach Monaghan I felt our record just as easily could have been 7-2 if we would have been able to take advantage of a few breaks. The outlook for next year is bright as we have quite a few players returning at the skill position. Coach Rose I enjoyed coaching this year's team more than any other year, because I was able to see some improvements from a bunch of boys who were not supposed to win any games according to some football predictors. Coach Beecher This season was one of ups and downs. At times we played like a championship club and then at other times we had lapses that cost us ballgames. CRUNCH “A day for toil, and hour for sports.” —Emerson UPPER LEFT-John Reha stops for the pause that refreshes. Our boys show their tough block- ing ability as Curt Lewellen crashes through the defense's line for extra yardage. 13
