Celebrate the Past
in the spirit of seventy-sixThere was an enormous foree which strengthened the colonies, which exists today, and which has carried America through its great history. That force is known to us all to be the Spirit of 76.’
It is a SPIRIT OF LIBERTY and the knowledge that one man's freedom is more important than anything else on earth.

Today Is Ours was chosen by this year's staff As | the theme of the 1976 Yearbook. The theme is j carried throughout the book as each section is | represented by a sentence beginning with Today Is Ours .
Special recognition and thanks goes to Mrs. Arlington, Mr. Evans, Powell Studios, Taylor Publishing Co. and Guy Grey. We would also like to thank Hallmark for the use of their picture on the •. cover, our advertisers, and the student body for their | ? support. |
About the cover: The blue cover background with J I would personally like to thank the 1975-76 staff and the white border around the picture and the red J Mrs. Lindabury- for all their hardwork and great endsheets were chosen to reflect the Senior class J imagination which helped to produce a fantastic colors; red, white, and blue. The Hallmark picture of J Yearbook, a sunrise represents visually our theme in that a 1 sunrise is the beginning of a new day just as our lives } are just beginning. 2

“I came to Ada in January 1976 from Melbourne. Australia, which is the second largest city in Australia with a population of two and one-half million. In Australia I attended the Ivanhoe Grammer School and was in my junior year. I will complete my senior year when I return home in 1977.
I have a brother and a sister who are both in the eighth grade. My mother teaches Science and Math to grades nine and ten while my father is a mechanical engineer.
My favorite hobby is to spend my spare time sailing with my brother and father near Melbourne.’ —David
“I arrived in the United States in August 1975 and so made my first contact with the American culture. The unique friendliness and warmth of the people I met helped me adjust quickly.
I feel that the American people possess many qualities such as generosity, progressiveness, sincere spirit of competition and kindness which are very unique among other nations' characteristics. While traveling and visiting many different places. I have been impressed by the splendour of the scenery and the richness of your heritage.
As far as my high school life is concerned, it has been a really great experience of making friends and sharing ideas.'’ —Chris

The choir started off their year by preparing for a Christmas concert. The concert, featuring an elementary honors choir, the high school choir, and a new group, the Madrigals, was held on December 18, 1975 The choir kept busy through the months of January and February by selling swiss cheese to raise money for choir robes. Then in March they received an excellent rating at district contest, a fine showing for the first appearance in twelve years. The Madrigals also went to contest and received an excellent rating. The choir ended up the year with a spring concert on May 7, 1976. Congratulations choir, we’re looking forward to an encore!

Sts1 Ada, Ohio Box 36You have probably taken it for granted, seldom noticing its presence. But while you have been growing and changing, it too has been growing and changing, preparing for the day when you finally noticed it. As close as your backyard but as strange as the knowledge of a foreign country, you now have a chance to find out what it really is like. And it combines the best of both worlds — your home town and your college education. It, of course, is OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY where you can learn to be an engineer, pharmacist, prepare for a career in law, or pick from over 24 other programs from the departments in the college of liberal arts. For being a small school in a small town, it certainly offers the knowledge to work in and understand the world.
