Mr. Mitchell graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, and was a director in Wake County before moving to Acme-Delco. The band participated in all home games and went to Camp LeJeune in November to be a part of the schools first play-off games, and competed in parades at Shallote, Tabor City, and Winston-Salem. The symphonic band presented a Christmas program for both schools. Some students make All-State Senior Band and All-State Junior High Band. The year ended with a spring concert. 56 SENIOR BAND: P.
