At the end of every school year, the next year's cheerleaders are chosen. From that moment on, they have hours of endless practice. Our cheerleaders' year was long, but fun. Football season began all the action. Every Friday night, our girls would be at the field thirty minutes early to warm up. For the next couple of hours, they would cheer their hearts out for old A-D High. Spirited and smiling, they would leave the game, sometimes winners, sometimes losers, but always proud. Basketball season was here again and so were the cheerleaders. Jumping and yelling, the girls cheered on the teams. Another year was over and the whole process was beginning again. 22 M. Bowens, L.
