Acadiana vs. L. B. Landry The Wreckin' Rams started off the new season in high spirits, and with good reason. Their 40-24 victory over the Buccaneers of New,OrIeans was a great success for everyone, and especially for Troy Jones. Troy ran for 205 yards in 13 at- tempts and was written down in the records as being the only Ram to have scored five touchdowns in one game. Acadiana's offensive line did a great job at clearing out L. B. Landry's defense. Special recognition went to Ted Doucet, Mike Sifton, Dean Theriot, and Mark Ventress for their superior blocking tactics. Great job, Rams! ' X,

The 13-6 victory wasn't easy though. They had to overcome Eunice's Craig Victoria who ran the 100-yard dash in 9.6 seconds and who was also considered the Troy Jones of Eunice High. . Troy Jones scored both touchdowns in this game but couldn't have done it without the help of Lee Gothe, Tim Handy, Bubba Savell, and Todd Travis. Outstanding tackles contributed greatly to the AHS victory. Some of the leaders of the tackle pack were Lee Arceneaux, who made a total of six tacktes, Bubba Savell, who made three solo tackles and gotin on six others, Doug Granger, who made a total of ten tackles, and Troy Thlbodeaux, whole' the pack with twelve tackles, six of them by himself.
