The purpose of the club is to provide needed services to the school and community. At school, the girls try to provide assistance to all groups at Acadiana - students, faculty, staff and administration. GSC's biggest proiect, and the one the girls enjoy most, is the sale of carnations and roses for Valentine's Day. Along with many other projects, they provide money for two grants for students attending Close-Up Foundation, girls' athletics awards, and two students for Pelican State, Both Mrs. Brown and Ms. Servat have been with GSC for over 3 years. They divide the responsibilities of supervising various club activities and the duties of of- ficers. They assist in the planning of activities and meetings, and then check after- wards to be sure that club members have fulfilled their commitments. Mrs. Brown has a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from USL. She is present- ly working toward a Master's degree from USL in secondary teaching.
