P.R.I.D.E. is a club concerned with the brotherly relationship be- tween all people. This year the P.R.l.D.E. organization took a trip to the World's Fair to visit and learn more about the many different places in the world. The group also hosted a Black History pro- gram in February. Individuals made posters to display in the cafeteria, while entertain- ment was provided by par- ticipating parish schools. Beta Club, one of Acadiana's honor clubs, participated in various activities to benefit the school. Early in October, the annual membership drive was held, followed by a candlelight induction for the new members. The Annual candy cane sales at Christmas proved to be very successful. Students found pleasure in not only receiving the candy canes before Christmas, but also in buying them for their friends and teachers. The club's district convention was held in Breaux Bridge. Members at- tended and placed second in school competition. At the end of the year, the club participated in the March of Dimes Walk-A-Thon. NOT PICTURED: Dion Alleman - Vice-President. Judging Teams Vital to FFA One of the most important aspects of the agricultural program is judg- ing team competitions. Our FFA competes with a Senior Chapter and a Freshman Chapter. In the Area lll contest, sixty of the top teams from Southwest LA compete to determine the teams eligible for state. The Milk Quality team placed 2nd, Freshman Dairy Cattle judging team placed 4thg Senior Livestock team also received 4thg Senior Poultry judging team ranked 5th and the Freshman Poultry judging team placed 7th. At the Top 16 State Contest, the Milk Quality team placed 5th. Major award winners for the year included Bart Hains who received the Star Chapter Farmer award. Named as outstanding senior was Dion Alleman, outstanding juniors were Stephanie Brasseaux and Jason Boudreaux and outstanding sophomore was Troy Dartez. Star Greenhand awards went to Scotty Mire and Glenn McCall. Freshmen, Tony Touchet and Greg Foreman, and seniors, Damon Menard and Dirk Menard, all received Leadership pins. At rally competition, Glenn McCall placed 3rd in Ag lg Tony Credeur received 3rd in Ag llg Jason Boudreaux placed 2nd in Ag Illg and Bart Hains received ist in Ag IV.
