The year's activities included serving refreshments at Open House, working in the cafeteria for Cafeteria Day, helping clean our school on Janitors' Day and ushering at Bac- calaureate and Graduation ceremonies. GSC also held its annual Valentine's Day carnation sale. This year the members were joined by members of ln- teract in a joint effort to sell the flowers. Communi- ty services included donating goods to the needy, buying toys to give to Toys for Tots, and working at the Spring Family Fair. Concluding another successful and rewarding year, the members of GSC gained recognition, not only through their individual accomplishments, but also through their combined efforts to provide a variety of services to the students at AHS. N A1 'IIN . a1avl' Key Club Has Active Year The Acadiana High Key Club, sponsored by Mr. Lawrence Kresse. lived up to its reputation as one of Acadiana's most elite service clubs. Chosen by teacher nomination, the twen- ty members that comprised Key Club worked on many service projects during the '84-'85 year. Key Club activities included selling football programs, decorating Acadian Village for Christmas Comes Alive, directing traffic at Festival Acadiens, painting Butler buildings at the Alleman Center and working at St. Joseph's Diner twice a month. Key Club members also cleaned the parking lots after home football games and assisted at Open House. In May, the Key Culb also helped the Kiwanis Club with their annual barbeque. Socials were held during the year with the Girls' Service Club after joint service projects. For Halloween, money was collected for UNICEF, and for Christmas, members went carolling at a nursing home. Ten members attended the Key Club District Convention in New Orleans.
