Sponsor Sponsor Mrs. Deborah Tatman Mr. Ned Guillory lnleract Sponsors Awards Members of the Interact Club attended the District meeting at the Lafayette Hilton and later attended the District Convention at the Lake Charles Hilton. Their duties in- cluded serving the community and school in several projects. Members worked at a booth during the Festivals Acadien. Susie Hargroder, Travis Guillory and George Lang served as the clean-up committee for the Rotarian Convention held in Lafayette. The club also co-sponsored the carnation sales for Valentine's Day with the Girls' Service Club. Ushering at both Open House and graduation were also on the list of service projects. Interact was also responsible for sponsoring one boy and one girl to Pelican State. This year, they sent Eric Kresse and Ashley Stockstill. At Baccalaureate, interact sponsored and awarded the Citizenship Award to Dean Theriot and the Outstanding Service Club Award to Monica Jefcoat. S50 was contributed to the Close-Up Program to help students travel to Washington, D.C. where they gain first-hand knowledge ol the federal government. INTERACT 183

For Christmas, the FHA'ers stuffed stock- ings for the Salvation Army and made Easter baskets for the Spring Famiy Fair. All the proceeds from the Easter baskets went to Cancer Research. They actively par- ticipated in the district and parish meetings by making props and delivering speeches. Recognized as Acadiana's Miss FHA was Donna Hebert. Suzie Hargroder was presented with a silver bowl in recognition of winning 1st place in the district Yam Con- test. The end ofthe year banquet featuring a Hawaiian theme was held at The Hilton.
