Girls' Softball Finishes 8 and 4 l Preparation for the 1984-85 Lady Rams' season began early n November and greatly affected the turnout of the season. The girls participated in many tournaments including Lafayette 1igh's in which the Rams placed 3rd and Opelousas Catholic's vhere the Rams placed 2nd. Teamwork and determination were mportant factors which helped the girls to finish 3rd in district. four of the team members were selected to the all-district team: tammy Dubose - shortstop, and Melissa Frederick - 2nd base, received First Team honors. Paula Arceneaux - pitcher, ind Donny Stelly - Catcher, received Second Team honors. The tennis team consisted of 16 members, 8 boys and 8 irls. During the season, the team played against seven schools, ending the year with a record of 6-6-1 including a tie with Lafayette High in one match. Overall team scoring be- tween the six public schools, Acadiana, Carencro, Comeaux, Lafayette, New Iberia, and Opelousas, seeded the boys' team 3 t no. 4 and the girls' team at no. 2 tying with Lafayette and Opelousas high schools. On April 25 and 26, the tennis team went to regionals which was held at Thomas Park where in- d ividuals competed in various categories. Taking first place in Mixed doubles was Mike Pelletier and Staci Stover, and 7I C oming in third place in Girls' Doubles was Kelly Brown and Z Anne Sonnier.
