Cross Country Team Cnmpetes Fast becoming a popular sport, running is not only an excellent form of exercise, but also a means of competition for the cross country team at AHS. Members par- ticipate in Saturday meets during the fall semester until Thanksgiving. Races rang- ing from two to three miles are used to measure the skills of the runners. The district meet held in New Iberia was attended by several of the Cross Country team members. Stacey Walters captured sixth and Bubba Lagasse placed eleventh. Because Stacey placed in the top ten at district, she was given the opportunity to compete at the state meet in Baton Rouge. Outstanding members showing great promise include Bubba Lagasse, Chris Abbott, Brad Martin, Stacey Walters, Chris Touchet, Paul Stutes, Maribeth Daigle and Angele Catrou. CROSS COUNTRY
