Milliken, RO The Repair Department is com- prised of over 650 professionals in 56 shops. Providing repairs, technical support and services to over 110 fleet and joint task force commands in the Persian Gulf, we reaffirmed our repu- tation as the finest afloat Intermediate Maintenance Activity. Once again ACADIA has qualified for the COM- NAVSURFPAC REPAIR R Department Excellence Award. . When the USS IWO JIMA experi- enced its tragic fireroom main steam valve casualty, the Repair Department completed over 170 repairs rendering l the IWO JIMA fully operational within four weeks. ACADIA performed emer- gency repairs tothe collision damaged USS HARRY W. HILL, enabling the destroyer to return to action in three days. Throughout the conflict, we sup- ported Canadian, British, Argentine, Kuwaiti, Spanish, and Dutch ships. This included the design and fabrica- tion of a helo control station for the Kuwaiti naval vessel to enable allied flight operations.
