II FN Joseph O. Oberg III received a Letter of Commendation for his quick action and re- sponse to a major fire onboard ACADIA June 9th, 1983. He correctly reported the fire and returned to the scene and attempt- ed to extinguish the fire. Six members of ACADlA ' s Fire Cracker Team also received Letters of Commen- dation for their performance in combat- ting that fire.
