THE SENIOR CLASS Of 1957 1 C
ACADEMY OF THE HOLY ANGELS ?Air
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTADedication
As director of the CYC since his ordination. Father Baglio has brought together the young Catholics
of Minneapolis to form a united movement towards more Christ-like living That unique movement, which we all know as Contact, was originated by him in 1950, and has received national recognition. In addition to directing numerous other
youth groups. Father has been a special aid to Holy Angels seniors in his weekly marriage preparation course. Therefore, it is with deep respect and love that we dedicate this 1957 Angelus to Father Joseph Baglio, who has so proved his trust in youth.

The future of the world rests in our hands. The future belongs to Youth, for when we become adults, it will be our present and our prime. Our hands will be as variegated as the persons behind them. With them we can either build or destroy. With the Catholic ideals integrated in our AHA training, we plan to build.
Hands are either active or contemplative. The active are those that govern, soothe the sick, nurture the child, pound the typewriter. These are trained in such activities as Student Council, science, homemaking and business courses. These are the worn hands showing strength of character.
The contemplative hands are those that paint the masterpiece, write the idea, compose the symphony, scheme the skyscraper, philosophize. These are trained in such activities as art, ACHOAN, ANGELUS, music, mathematics, language, history and psychology. These rest in the simple repose of a life dedicated to high aspirations.
Our Catholic ideals bind all of these together and offer us this challenge: we must, as Christ's hands, change society from bad to good, from good to better.Heading for a Student Council meeting, senior class president Judy Clark is set to represent all 160 classmates.

Three To Get Ready
Mary, Mary! Now ain't that just like a woman! exclaims Mr. O'Neill, (Ed Pasch) as he waits impatiently while his Three to Get Ready receive last minute touches from Mrs. O'Neill (Rose Bigelow). Bringing up three daughters at the turn of the century is not an easy matter, particularly when those three daughters happen to be Mickey, (Sheila Berndt) Martha, (Marnie Keogh) and Grace (Eileen Walsh). It's Spring Again ' sings Mickey, not suspecting that this spring will be something special. Then the announcement is made. The Annual Farm Festival is to be held at the O'Neill farm. The festival plus the arrival of a new neighbor, Mark Don-Ion (Dennie Heaney) teaches Mickey's life-long friend, Jock (Jerry Dirk-ers) that women can't be taken for granted. With the flurry of preparations for the festival, Mr. and Mrs. O'Neill try to keep things in order, but there is never a dull moment with the three giggling Schultz girls, Gladys, (Judy Clark) Katie, (Sue Harrigan) and Irene (Marie Schatzlein) on hand. The festival was a success, of course; the bedlam of boyfriends straightened itself out; and each of the O'Neill girls emerged ready .
Miss Patricia Connolly, author and director of the musical, was assisted by Miss Donna Busch, music director and Sister Maura, technical director.Little Women
Mobiles of Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy put the school In the mood for the senior class production of Louisa Mae Al-cott's familiar story.
Marmie (Betty Klopp, Judy Zeglen) guided her girls as best she could while their father was away. Keeping Amy (Mary Flood, Marilyn Eckes) and Jo iBarb Olsen, Rita LeJeune) under control proved to be a full time job for Meg (Sheila Berndt, Karel Hannon). Shy Beth lEva Tourtelotte, Judy Clark) seemed the only calm member of the family at times. Domineering Aunt March (Elodie Chichester, Marie Schatzlein) was definitely contrasted with fluttery Aunt Carroll (Ja-nan Nolan). Sally Moffett's i N a n c y Heiber, Kate Larkin) visit gave Amy a chance to show off her social graces. However, at the crucial moments it was Hannah (Rose Bieglow) who kept things on an even keel when arguments threatened tc ruin family peace. From pickled lines to plaster molds, the four girls grew closer and really became Little Women .In o hoppy muddle before deadlines are ACHOAN staff members. If Youth are to lead others to higher things, they must do so with the magnetism of sincere, loyal friendliness, human understanding, and social poise. These qualities are found in social activity.
Recognizing the family as the basic social unit, the Academy helps bind its ties with the fun of the Father-Daughter Banquet and Mother-Daughter Communion Breakfast.
In school, each class is brought together in the friendliness of its own class party and in such hilarious activities as J.B. Day. The freshmen are especially brought into the swing of things at the Big-Little Sister Picnic when they are welcomed, guided, and sometimes awed by the seniors.
There is also a balance of all-school as well as class loyalty. Sportswise, there is the inter-class basketball competition of the Little Brown Jug games and the basketball, track, ping-pong, and volleyball competition of Wing Day. All classes share, too, in the spirited C.S. Carnival and the All-School Election Campaign.
Nothing is looked forward to with more anticipation than the Angelus Dance, which unofficially declares the end of semester exams. After weeks of secret plotting and planning, the Juniors entertain us at the J.S. Our social activity reaches its climax in the Senior Farewell and the dance to end all dances —Commencement.Master of Ceremonies, Mr. T. P. Gallagher, father of all-school president, Sheila, got the evening's program off to a good start.
Chatting with their fathers before the dinner began are Marilynn Eckes, Judy Reichel, Mary Bostien, Mary Rae Kobbe, Sharon Lynch, and Jane Eckes.
Dads,
Daughters,
Dinner
After a turkey dinner, Angies and Dads anticipate the evening's entertainment.Intermission time! Sheila Rowland, Larry O'Leary, Janon Nolan and Bill Schneider pause a minute for o breath and a cool drink.
New faces! Marie Schatzlein and Denny Mickel-son look on as Janon Nolan and Sheila Gallagher introduce their escorts Bill Schneider and Joe Burns.
It was perfect,'' agree Jo Lowry and Jim Curtis.
Taking time out between dances at the 1957 Angelas are Poul Peterson, Bob Bisshel, Pat O'Hanlon, Margaret Peterson, Jack Middle-stead and Mary Kay Frazier.
Angelus Complete, Friends Meet'In Apple Blossom Time”
Steve Tell grins as Kathy Quinn, junior class president, shows him the list of girls he will be dancing with.
As juniors we spent weeks planning the J.S. Then on that night of nights we danced to tho music of Bob Leighton.
