Its chief func- tions are: establishing high standards of conduct, preserving the welfare of the school, and acting as a mouthpiece for each srudent's wishes. The Council consists of four officers elected each May and representatives from each home room elected in September and again in january. Each year an informal dance for juniors and sophomores entitled Cupid's Capers is sponsored by the Council and this year they have undertaken sponsorship of a Fathers' Sports Night in conjunction with Mission Day. Im.,-adffes Any girl here at Lauralton who considers herself the possessor of musical talents is encouraged to develop them. The Choral Club, divided into the junior and senior groups, is an outlet for musical expression. Under the guidance of Sister Edna Marie, the groups meet twice weekly. They also engage in a series of concerts during the school year. The Lauralettes, an outgrowth of the Choral Club, is a smaller group of musically inclined singers who are willing to devote more time to developing their assets.
