IN HOME-MAKING . The Home-Making course is something new at Lauralton. Its purpose is to develop the practical abilities of the girls so that they will be better equipped to fulfill their future role of Christian Mother-Educators. Personality study, grooming, clothing con- struction, home management, interior decorating and baby-sitting constitute the various phases of the course. Next year the advanced Home Economics course open to Sophomores will include food preparation, nutrition, home nursing and consumer buying. In 1960 the course will be an elective for upper classes. Located in the Sacred Heart Building, the Home Economics rooms are attractively furnished with blond oak sewing machines, cutting tables, chairs and cabinets. There is a fitting room with three-way, full length mirrors. Here the future modistes put the finishing touches to the garments which had become realities under their nimble lingers. . . may all here please Thee by practicing every virtue, so that they may one day be welcomed into Thy eternal home in heaven . . - Blessing of the Home-Making Department a.,-'X Freshmen plan their first skirts.
