The theme trees can well portray the course of development followed by students in every aspect of life. Students can be thought of as seeds which must be sown, and whose roots must be firmly imbedded in the earth. The search for purpose and fulfillment should be rooted in a deep foundation. Good Counselites feel that the building of a formidable foundation, to a great extent, is due to the ideals instilled in their hearts through their educa- tion at Good Counsel Academy. This is the orchard where the trees are organized for this specific purpose. They mature and grow in strength, developing their personalities into power- ful trunks, each being distinctly different, and yet each growing in the same relative areas. Limbs begin to sprout, departing from the trunk in the designed orde'r of nature, fitting the pattern designated at the time of rooting. Students are nourished at Good Counsel with knowledge, responsibility and social activity, so that full development will be nurtured, As the class of l967 branches out into the unforeseen, we will carry with us all that is deep in our foundations. Having reached this stage of maturity, we, too, as trees in full bloom, will shed our leaves. And, as the falling leaves bring forth new life, so also will we influence our surroundings and extend our Christian principles wherever we go. Our limbs will stand firm through all stormy conflicts, and we will remember with pride and gratitude that Good Counsel was the source of our development. By their 'fruits you shall know them.
