the work of our wonderful Sisters.
We realize the inadequacy of mere words to convey our deepest
feelings when we come to express our gratitude to the Sisters of the
Divine Compassion. How much of patience, of counsel, of affection
we have received from them!
They have given to us through the years from an inexhaustible
source, the Sacred Heart of Christ, whose spouses they are. They
have given and are the richer for the giving, because that is the
marvelous power of those who have consecrated their lives to Him.
Our senior year began in the sunset glow of the Marian Year. We
thank Reverend Mother Mary Dolores for this above all: the
beautiful memories associated with the feasts of our Lady, Queen of
our hearts. We pray that Mary herself will be her recompense.
To our dear principal, Sister Mary Anselm, our gratitude is very
sincere and very great. We have been deeply conscious of her interest
in our spiritual welfare, of her anxiety lest we fall below the mark
God has given us the intellectual capacity to reach, of her prayers
that we hold high the ideals of our school.
To her hopes and prayers have been added those of all our Sisters
whom we have grown to know and love. We thank them in the
awareness that always comes when it is time to say goodbye. When
we think of Alma Mater we will see a Mary-like nun, a composite
of the virtues we have seen in all of them, and we will thank God
for the blessing of our Catholic education.

Spirit is the cause as well as the effect of every
victory. Every team, no matter how outstanding,
needs the backing and encouragement of its sup-

GCA. girls give it, They have cheered the team
on to victory more than a dozen times this year,
