CLASS l-HSTOBY E have just tctrned the last page tn the story of our htgh school days The book ts closed but recollectton ts sweet and we cannot restst the destre to turn agatn those wcll thumbed page ltvtng once more tn memory four years at G C A The ftrst chapter ts entttled Babes tn Arms Eager and enthustasttc and just a ltttle ttmtd we vtewed our Alma Mater for the ftrst ttme The ttmtdtty soon passed however tn the cheery at mosphere provtded by the upper classmen Fulftlltng the roles of hostesses and gutdes they led us along a way made easy by thetr compantonshtp We ftrst demonstrated our dramattc abtltty by gtvtng a play tn honor ot Chrtst the Ktng on October 30 Next we responded whole heartedly to the Book Drtve held durtng the week o November l5 Our ftrst Chrtstmas party at G C A wtll long be remembered as wtll the Old Glory Ball whtch followed soon after an affatr atven for the beneftt of Catholtc Chartt es Our next school functton the Glee Club Concert held tn March proved to be a tradtttonal success under the dtrectton of Mr Fredertc loslyn From our f rst track meet wtth Satnt Mary s we returned wtth honors Other sprtng engagements followed tn autck suc cesston Before we could realtze tt our treshman year had come to a close and we were no longer Babes at G C A Ltttle Women As sophomores we attended tn accordance wtth the annual custom a Mass of the l-loly Ghost tn our beauttful chapel on Monday September l3 After Hts blesstng other acttvtttes could follow A ptcntc at Stlver Lake helped us to make new acguatntances among the freshmen Wtthtn a few weeks we carrted off the honors tn an tnterclo s tteld day and three days later on Nov ember 17 we patd a vtstt to the Book Fatr at Rockefeller Center After four weeks of Advent the holtdays were upon us and we entertatned wtth an ortgtn al Chrtstmas play followed by a party wtth the usual exchange of gtfts The arrtval of the New Year brought examtnattons but happy days returned tn ttme and we went on a skattng party to Bye wtth the tumors On Satnt Val enttne s Day the members of our cla s gave a octal but th outstandtng fea ture of February was the lubtlee Ball a gala affatr held tn the gatly decorated audttortum Thts year the Peg O s presented Anne of Green Gables the ftrst Dramattc Club play tn whtch members of our closs could parttctpate Soon after the annual Glee Club Concer came the satl up the Hudson on the Peter Stuyvesant whtch had been chartered by the Fordham Preparatory School Our second year came to a close wtth the presentatton of the Academy play Queen by the Grace ot God The Ltttle Women were growtng up too fast Ltttle Peppers and l-low They Grew As tuntors we returned eager to meet our younger ststers the freshmen Thts we dtd at a Ktddte Party whtch we ga Je tn thetr honor durtng the ftrst week of school Later they returned the compltment by gtvtng us an Old Matd Party at whtch we dressed as ltttle old ladtes The days flew and so dtd the Wttches for Halloween was celebrated by a masquerade dance A new organtzatton was formed thts year the Lattn Club O Tempora O Mores At tts ftrst soctal meettng on December l5 the club welcomed the new members wtth Lattn songs and a short play Our part tn the Chrtstmas en tertatnrnent was an ortgtnal comedy Mrs O Leary s Boardtng l-lostse Dur lIIl1 l9I0 1 . . 1 F . . . . - o, 1 1 ' I I - . t 1 . 7 . . 1 I - Y .
