MISSION CRUSADE livery year finds Holy Angels more deeply interested in Mission activities. and more than ever we have learned the meaning of our standard: l'og1m.w'rf1'.w I'cr1'Ia.fenz. After preliminary elections we were ready to begin new work under YYinifred Price as President, Mercedes liosetti as Secretary, Clare Nlooney as Treasurer. Fidalma Balestri. Junior, Marie NIL-Garry, Sophomore. and Klartha Phillips, Freshman, complete our board of officers. At our first meeting, plans were discussed for mission work to be done during the year. The Seniors adopted the Alaryknoll Alissions as the field for their endeavorg the Juniors, Father Niel Blurphy. Nazareth, North Carolina: the Sophomores. Sister Augustine U.P., Kowloon, China: the Freshmen, the Aledical Missions. Father I,ord's Sllg- gestion for character building was agreed upon and has proven of great help in teaching our students the efficacy of aspirations repeated at odd moments during the day. Then, to further love and devotion to our liucharistic Lord, several girls volunteered to fulfil their duties as Ilandmaids of the Blessed Sacrament. Since their organiza- tion was begun, the Handmaids have advanced far along the road to perfect devotion to .lesus in the Blessed Sacra- ment. Un October Qtith excitement ran high. Twenty eager but timid Freshmen were to be initiated into the C. S. M. C. to take up the work of saving souls for Christ. As the beau- tiful ceremony proceeded, sentiments of deepest reverence not lmmixed with feelings of exaltation spread over all, and the wonderful significance of the pageant struck deep into the hearts of the Crusaders present. The characters represented were as follows: Lady Ifvligiozz . . . IYINIFRED Pmci: Lady elbbcss .... BIERCEDES Bosi-:Tri Standard Bearers EELLEI-:N Doass, GRACE SCHLAIER SXGERALDINE PARKER, JEAN MAss.xuo The assembly was graced by the presence of lIonsignor William A. Griffin of Newark who delivered an interesting discourse on the great work accomplished by American Missionaries. His words served to kindle enthusiasm and inspire us with zeal in the 1NIission field. llnder the auspices of the Little Flower linit, a Hallo- we'en party was held at the school. The proceeds went to the general Alission fund. At Christmas, adhering to the maxim, Charity begins at home, we attempted to do our part in making the holi- day season just a little brighter for those less fortunate than ourselves. Each class contributed articles of food, clothing, fuel, etc., arranged attractive baskets. and sent them on their way to bring cheer and comfort to families in need. YVe are sure that our little mite was appreciated by those especially beloved of Christ.
