Our beloved Principal. Sister Hose Catherine. had been transferred to Halifax and to take her place had come thoughtful Sister -lohn Berchmansg Sister Nlarie Esther had sailed away to sunny Bermuda and Sister Rita Nlarion was the new Nlusic teacher. XVe were graduates. Now in the front ranks. it was incumbent on us to set the example. XVe had our first opportunity to exercise our new uauthority at lnitiation. YU' decked freshmen with vari-colored bal- loons attached to their ears and burdened them. besides. with numerous duties. The student body presented a bizarre appear- ance surely for a week. As the months sped by. events crowded upon us: participation in the mammoth C.Y.O. parade: the always enjoyable visit of the .loyners to present The .lIr'l'rlu1nf of Venice: our evening at jordan Ilall. where we sat enraptured for over two hours, listening to the unusual Nlusicale presented as the first project dur- ing the Centennial Year of our beloved Sis- tersg our very own Senior Promg the educa- tional visit to the Freedom Train: our truly wonderful Retreat given by Father Theo- phane Nlurphy. All these happen- ings were but accompaniments to hard study. Springtime brought the annual Nlay Procession with Prefect, Nlary Maguire, crowning Our l.ady in the grotto. And then the great day. june 15. saw us, capped and gowned, the beautiful ancient statue of in dignified procession receive our first passport to the future - our longed-for di- ploma - the testimonial of the years' hard work.
