ARE YOU A SE IOR?
This is just a simple test to help you realize what you were this year. Now keep score, one
point a piece,
1. Did you stop trying after Ianuary 1986?
2.. Can you sign one of your parent's name?
3. Do you feel stupid at pep rallies?
4. Do you feel you can leave school anytime you want?
5. Do you always arrive in class 10 minutes late?
6. Do you feel more equal to your teachers?
7. Have you ran out of things to write in friends yearbooks?
8. Does Mr. Brown know your name?
9. Do you worry about how many credits you have?
10. Do you use your schoolbooks as writting papers?
11. Do you sleep more than 3 periods a day?
12. Do you remember what Farrells Ice Cream tastes like?
Now tally your points, and find out what you were this year.
0-3: Freshman 7-9: PSEUDO-Senior
4-6: Under Classman 10-12: O.G. Senior
Editor's Note: If you don't care what your score is, then you're really a Senior!!

What Does The Medical Magnet Mean To Lin-
coln High School?
The Medical Magnet has been at Lincoln
High School for six ears, and this is a good
time to look at what this program means to the
school. Currently, 338 stu ents are in the
medical program. There are 141 full time high
school students in grades 9 through 12, 270!o of
these are from the Lincoln attendance area,
and the rest of the students come from other
schools. In addition, there are 65 part time
high school students, and 122 part time adult
students. It's a big program with lots of
benefits to the students, and to Lincoln High
School itself.
What are some of the advantages of being-lin
,the program? The most imlportant is t at
students are prepared for col ege by commit-
ting themselves to a curriculum of unique and
specialized classes. Upon completion of cer-
Al.

Her Soua
Curtis, Terri
tain courses students are eligible to begin
medical related jobs immediate y. A very 1m-
portant advantage to non-resident students is
that they become part of the friendly Lincoln
High Sc ool campus. What does the Medical
Magnet do for incoln High School? The
Magnet plrogram has broug t new students
an teac ers to the campus with different
backglrounds and experiences. Because Lin-
coln as the smallest student enrollment in the
city, some classes have suffered from low class
size in the past. Today Magnet and non-
Magnet students work side by side in classes
like Physics Chemistry, English and Math.
Magnet Students Participate in the Lincoln
AS , sports teams and school clubs. The
Magnet program has been a lpartnershi that
has brought out the best in oth the Nlja net
student and in the resident student. gfhe
Medical Magnet is proud and happy to call
Lincoln High School ome!

The Lincoln-Crawford
C.I.F. game pla ed at the
San Diego lack Murphy
Stadium on December 7,
1985 was totally dominated
by the Hornets. Lincoln
started out in the first
quarter when they scored
twice which gave them a
28-0 lead against Crawford.
It all began when Marcus
Hopkins scored on ya 2 yard
run. Then Kenneth Bass
picked off a Crawford pass
and raced untouched to the
end zone. Lincoln added the
extra point for a 14-0 lead.
Later Malcolm Glover hit
wide receiver Patrick Rowe
crossing over the middle on
a 64 yard touchdown pass
Inlay and made it 21-0. Final-
y, it was time for number
22, Marcus Hopkins to put
the sting on Crawford. He
scored on a 33 yard pass for
another touchdown. All this
took place in the first half of
the game. In the second half
the rest was up to the Lin-X
coln defense. The whole
team really stood out. Mar-
cus Hopkins with 2
touchdownsg Kevin Key,
with 81 yards on 15 carries:
and last but not least, Pa -
py Glover who comfmletedp 7
out of 13 passes or 175
yards and 2 touchdowns.
Thus, Lincoln's season end-
ed in glory. The beat the
only team which had beaten
them on the battle field, and
another tremendous chapter
of L.H.S. football had come
to a victorious ending.

DID YOU EVER LOVE SOMEONE?
Did you ever love someone
And knew they didn't care
Did you ever feel like crying
But knew it wouldn't get you anywhere
Did you ever look into their eyes
And knew there was something there
Did you ever look into their heart
And wish that you were there
Did You ever whisper I love you so
But never let them know
If you fall in love my friend
You'll find it doesn't pay
It only causes heartaches
And it happens every day
Did you ever wonder where they were
And if their being true
You'll find you're happy one day
And the next day you'll be blue
And when you don't know
You'll wonder day and night
You'll see my friend, you're losing them
No matter how hard you fight
Love is fine, it hurts so much
The price you pay is high
If I had to choose between love and death
I think I'd rather die
And so I say don't fall in Love
You'll hurt before you're through
You see my friend I ought to know
I fell in Love with you.
When I first saw you I knew I was beginning
to feel nervous. You had such an adorable
face, and the way you talk, your voice sounded
sexy and your smile - it seems to lighten up
any admirer. What can I say, but you were
gorgeous, and still are.
Everytime I see you I seem to want to just
come and be by your side - just sit there and
be near you. I think of you often as I knew I
would when I first saw you. But everytime I
think of you I get a picture of you and someone
else. I guess it's because that you're so
gorgeous that you probably have someone
special to you. Someone that your special too.
Someone that your heart belongs to and so-
meone who's heart belongs to you, but that is
only my thinking, I really don't know.
When we talk briefly for a short moment,
you'd smile and I would wish I knew what you
think of me. As far as I can tell you see me as
just someone you know and I see you as just a
face in the crowd. If I had a chance or a dream
to come true, I'd have it just to be with you.
I may kid around, I may laugh a lot. Now you think I may be happy with the life I got. Nobody
knows, nobody sees, aint nobody really knows the other side of me. I could have it made. You ma
think it's me your lookin at, you made the grade. Nobody knows, my dreams are sweet. Ainll
nobody really sure just who they want to be. And everybody has a place in time. Chance to live
they need to find. We all got someone we care about, I propose you find it out. It's not in a book Ol
a magazine, or those stars that kinda haunt you in a screen. Ain't nobody can say it like it oughl
tobe...

Billy Squier
You and I
I am tomorrow, the dreams of today.
I am the future, I'll find the way.
You are yesterday, gone like our fun.
You are the memories, fading one by one.
Today when I saw you, I remembered our tpast.
We shared something wonderful, it just di n't last.
I can't stay any longer, I have to move on . And look
for the
future, because yeterday's gone.
The Difference
I got up early one morning and rushed right into
the day,
I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time
to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me and heavier came
each task,
Why doesn't God help me? I wondered he said,
But you didn't ask,
I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled
on, gray and black,
I wondered why God didn't show me. He said, But
you didn't seek.
I tried to come into God's presence, I used all my
keys at the lock.
God gently, and lovingly chided My child, you
didn't knock.
I woke u early this morning and pause before
entering tllle day.
I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time
to pray.

'LOVE'
He could no longer hold within him the feel-
ing that have been suppressed for so long.
He gently stroked her smooth, brown skin
which enerated a tingle throughout his en-
tire bosy. Her large beautiful eyes' seemed
to express the love and care that he had
long desired. His lips' became arched and
dry and his tongue frequently Eecame stuck
to the roof of his mouth. Suddenly, his
heart began beating rapidly as his lips'
formed, and her gently muttered the words,
I Love You into he listening ear. He then D
stared into her eyes as she presented a warm
loving smile and then said, I Love You Too.
A Special Friend
There are people who know how to make
others smi e. How to warm other hearts
with their cheer: How to say a kind
word when it's needed a lot and the
praise which we all like to hearg
There are people who know
how to give from the heart, who can
let their own feelings show
through . . . It's a wonderful
thing to know someone like
that . . . To know someone
as special as you.

FRESH FASHION S
The scene on the campus of Lincoln this year
was one of individuality. Whether it was Pumas
and Sweatsuits, Reeboks and breaking clothes,
or paisley and floral prints, it was seen at Lin-
coln. Students had the chance to keep up with
the modern fads while expressing their own per-
sonality in the way which they dressed.
Levis Strauss 501 jeans and Gucci sweatshirts
became prevalent throughout the school. Some
chose the Run D.M.C. rappers look with a Kangol
hat, Adidas sweatuits, Pumas, and maybe an ear-
ring in the left ear. Some went as far as getting
close shave hair cuts, then maybe a phrase such
as Fresh. Then there were many that chose to
have their hair cut so it looked as if they had a
tail growing from behind their head.
All of these styles reflected the student body's
burning desire to be different. 'LHS was there
place to shine and they tried every ploy they
knew to get themselves noticed. Fads enriched
the students lives. Each to be a part of the many
new crazes. It was difficult to follow every Fad,
but the students of LHS managed admirably.

IT'S A BUMMER FOR GUYS WHEN
Your little sister has to tell you about
the Facts of Life.
You don't shave for a month in an at-
tempt to grow a beard, and everyone
tells you your face is dirty.
You try to impress the girls by doing a
burnout in your truck and you crash
into a curb.
You shoot your best basket of the
basketball season in the wrong basket.
Your mother tries to tell you how to
handle a girl.
The ladies don't want to talk to you
because you need a new curl.
Your bestfriend tries to take your girl
out on a date, and she says yes.
They won't let your date in because of
the no dogs allowed sign.
You dress at your finest and your date
says why did you dress so casual.
You finally get your senior class ring,
with the inscription of Crawford Colts.

IT'S A BUMMER FOR GIRLS
WHEN...
You can't buy a bathing suit because
you need a size 11 bottom and size 5
top.
You are trying to diet and your friend
decides to treat you to lunch and
dessert.
You ask your beautician to dye your
hair and you end up with a jheri curl.
You take home every book in your
locker, except the one you really need.
Your mom calls your boyfriend by the
wrong name llike your ex-boyfriendsl.
You're taking a test in historyg the
class is totally silent, and you all of a
sudden get the hiccups.
You notice the guy you like smiles at
you everyday, and YOU don't even
know his name to ask him for a date.
Your girlfriend waits until the end of
school to tell you that you should have
wore a slip with that skirt.
