They ended the dual meet schedule with a 10-2 record. As for individual cham- pions, Dante Romeo was City and District champion and also took a third place in the state meet, wrestling at 120 pounds. Harry Flaugh was also City and District champ and won his first match in the state in the 154 pound class. John Martinez, who along with Romeo was elected co-captain, took the 133 pound City and District meets and won his first meet at state. Larry Hayes took the district at the 127 pound class the first year on the varsity team. Next year, although, the var- sity team loses some great per- formers including Dan Bristow 112 lbs., Dante Romeo 120 lbs., Bill Stewart 145 lbs., Harry Flaugh 154 lbs., Carl Moon 165 lbs., there are still some experi- enced wrestlers coming back and Coach Koroch hopes to surpass this year's record. Returning lettermen are Neil Fisher, Dick Ogdon, Bob Lozier, Jim Campbell, Sherman Gray, Larry Conrath, Bob Oglesbee, Butch Hammer, Jim and John Watson, and Gary Enslow. .14 4? BASKETBALL Coach Frank Talarico Lincoln Cagers finding it rough this season played fine ball de- spite their record. With the graduation of Don Duede and Darrell Riggle it slowed them quite a bit. The senior letter men were Nick Bellizzi, Kent Folsom, Jim Davis, Ted Erickson, Larry Douglas, Bill DeBlonk, and John Zahn. GOLF Coach Koroch After a slow start this season because of snow and cold weather the links of Lincoln started their golf season in fine style. Experi- ence and top prospects this sea- son may prove to be one of the best teams in many years. Seniors leading the golf team will be Carl Moon, Jim Davis, Ted Erick- son, Jack Hammond, and Harry Flaugh. BASEBALL Baseball has had a slow start this year because of cold weather. The pitchers and catchers have been practicing outside a little, but up to the time of the print- ing of this book most of the work had been done inside playing volleyball. There are a number of juniors and sophomores eager to fill the vacancies left by last year's grad- uating players and along with six returning lettermen should have a pretty good season. The six returning lettermen are John Haydon, John Zahn, Bill DeBlonk, Kent Folsom, Nick Bellizzi, and Larry Douglas, all-city selection of last year. We hope these memories, which mean so much to us, will also have your interest. Chapter I February second the class elected Nick Bellizzi as editor of the June l955 Railsplitter. Nick chose the staff, which was small, but was the backbone of the book. Each staff member has a number of persons to help him. Sherry Townsend was chosen make-up editor. She decides where everything is placed in the book. This may be considered the most important job of the book. The job of writing personality sketches was given to Beverly Howlett and Miriam Skelton. These sketches are placed beside the graduates' pictures in the Senior class section. aga- 3 Q33-Q 83' 9, :-1-IQ.
