CLASS FRESHMAN YEAR We came from the junior high filled with fear, With talk of walkouts and scabies last year. Underclassmen don’t rate, but we got our chance, When we experienced our first A.H.S. dance. As far as we knew the dance went quite well, Due to prior activities we couldn’t tell! We elected Kris, Karen, Diane, and Doss, Under Mr. Murray’s last year as boss. We posed for the pictures for our I.D. ’s, But the cards that were made we never received. We goofed around in I.P.S. Was all of high school just like this? At the first rally we showed we had class Unlike most years, the wall didn’t look crass! It took so long to receive our class jacket, When they finally arrived we sure made a racket. The thrill of belonging, we can all remember- We’d be Sophomores upon our return in September. SOPHOMORE YEAR We made our way up to the second floor, We finally had status-of that we were sure. The upperclassmen told us it wasn’t what we thought, One way or another, they made sure we were taught. The new administration brought about big change- It marked the beginning of Lord Byron’s reign. We had no idea what he had in store, Needless to say, Mr. Byron was sure. We kept our class officers as they had been before, Kris, Karen, Diane, and Doss were elected once more. The boys cross-country team didn’t do so hot, Since they won no meets- they sure lost a lot! The time finally came to purchase our rings, But weren’t what we thought when they came in the spring! Most of us went to the “Taming of the Shrew’’ With skip days outlawed, it was the best we could do! And thanks to the Blizzard of ’78 Sophomore year ended seven days late. 10
