FOUNDATION GRANT The Doltinger-McMahon Foundation in , Philadelphia has made a grant of S7500.00 l to enable AFS to participate inthe Friends Neighborhood Guild's Threshold Program tor the next three years. This money will pay tor scholarships 'For two students each year tor the next three years to spend a thirteenth year at AFS. Must we always consider education for our children in a curricular framework? This question, posed at a recent teachers' conference, evoked a quick no in my mind. Yet, as I thought about it, I wondered just how much we as a faculty do look beyond the curriculum for significant educational experiences to offer the students entrusted to us. I also wondered how much parents would encourage us to break the bonds of our customary curricular framework. And what about colleges? Would they look with favor upon major moves away from the traditional curriculum that has been the mainstay of the minimum sixteen units required for entrance to college?
