The idea was presented by principal Erle W. Volkland in a general assembly early in the fall. Mr. Volkland suggested having a senior who would be capable of filling the job, file for candidacy with one of the Stuco sponsors, C. B. Tice or Eugene Carlile. If the student body had a choice of candidacy, a petition was to be passed among the pupils for signatures. Twenty names were required on the petition for a candidate's eligibility. The two senior candidates, Dwight Vogel and Tom Curran, were both nominated by petition. The nominees presented similar platform speech- es to the student body in the election assembly, September 22.
