Because of a rising interest in
archery among Abilene students, a
club was organized this year under
the sponsorship of Wade Blake. This
new organization was created to ful-
fill the already growing deniands
and to offer a method of practice
for those already developed in the
sport. Gnly ten candidates first re-
ported, but through their efforts many
more became interested. Skill in this
ageeold sport requires many hours
of practice, but before one can prac-
tice, certain fundamentals must be
taught to the beginners. For that
reason Mr. Blake gave instructions
concerning stance and the holding
of the bow. After the newcomer had
learned the fundamentals, a c t u a l
practice was begun.
