N this. the fifteenth volume of the Flashlight. we are reflecting
the deeds of our forefathers and also the rays of the school.
ln closing this book. the editing of which has been very enjoy-
able to me. I wish to thank each person who has helped in publish-
ing it. At all times the Staff has been loyal. and at all times the
sponsors. Miss Tommie Clack and Mr. L. E. Dudley. have been an
inspiration to us. Dorothy Fletcher. the Associate Editor. has
been a very capahle assistant: Willard Brown. the Business Manager.
has financed the annual successfullyg Elizabeth Fletcher. the Ad-
vertising Manager. has taken part in many school activities this year.
but in none has she done better work than on the annual. and in
none other are her efforts more appreciated. The Art Editors.
Ruth Wright and Terry Hays. have proved to be very efficient in
the department. Anna Belle Sherrill, the tvpist. has been one of
the most faithful Staff members. Maurine Tigner, Morris Sayles.
Wade Banowsky. and Arthur Compere have held their positions un-
usually well. The four class editors. Mack Page. Robert Sayles.
Margaret Dillingham. and Maurine Dickerson. have worked dili-
gently toward giving their classes good sections.
In addition to the Staff. we are very grateful to the Battery and
the Battery Staff for their co-operation. These six girls also have
shown unusual interest. and we realize that their value has been
inestimable: Dixie Frost. Mary Louise Ector. Elaine Holt. Wfini-
fred Hay, Ioyce Powers. and Lady Hampton.
Other worthy ones who have helped us at times are as follows:
Carl Lewis, Sterling Parker. Robbie Wooten. Ethelyn Abel. Marjorie
Bland. Florence Locke, Debs Bowles, Fred Brookes, and Roberta
Burrus.
Fellow students. we have tried to avoid all errors, but we real-
ize that mistakes will creep into the book. When you find these.
will you please overlook them, for we editors are quite inexperienced
-and human. We graciously thank you for your support. for
everyone of you has helped us. Your willingness has made the
work much easier. and you may be assured that we shall never for-
get your efforts. We hope that each of you is pleased with our
finished product.
THE EDITOR.
