His headwork was good. and judging by his efforts in the Amarillo game. his footwork was also excellent. He was picked as a half on the all-state team. and he certainly deserved all the praise he has received. Aultman will be back for his fourth season with the Eagles of '28. OSCAR SENTER Oscar completed his second successful year as the Eagles' center. His passes were fast and accurate throughout the whole season. He played a good defensive game, too, especially at Cleburne and Waco. Oscar's graduation will leave the center berth open, and the new center will have to he a good man to fill the place. . -a....,..f..- . AB11.i:Ni:'s BALL GOODSON SELLERS-HALF Coodson. playing his last and best year with the Eagles, was one of the ranking backs in the State. His punts, being long. accurate. and high, kept the Eagles out of danger on many occasions. In the Amarillo game he made a fine exhibition when he sidestepped. dodged. twisted. and changed pace for many long gains, one of which resulted in a 90-yard run for a touchdown. JACK CHRISTIAN It is enough to say 'flack Christianu: his deeds speak for themselves. He earned his position as all-State guard bv many fine achievements: he was the best offensive guard in thc state and was equally good on the dc- fense: at Waco he was in almost every play. and hc outplayed his opponents so badly that Ffleers had to be removed. He snared passes and halted plays equally successfully. Levi did much toward stopping: Wlaco al our goal line on that remarkable occasion in the third quarter. Few were the times that the opposition made gains around him. and many times he halted plays on the other side of the lint-. He was on the receiving end of the famous G'Wrtlter to Salke-ld play, which netted many touchs downs. Dan was an excellent choice for Cap- tain-elect. S.ax.Kt:LD ESCO YVALTER-QL'AR'liER-ALL-S'liA'l'E The passes and long end runs of Esco Wal- ler. diminutive Eagle quarter-hack. made a sensation this season. Escdf: headwork, very essential to the Eagle type of play, was het- ter than that of most quarterbacks. hut his forte lay in his ahility to throw long and ac- curate passes: in this he teamed well with Salkeld. end. MAERICE BRA-XY-TACKLE Maurice, at tackle. played his first year with the Eagles. On account of his size and his charge. he was a hard man to carry ont. Bray was a sure and hard-hitting tackler. Xlany times he threw an opposing player for a loss of necessary yards. Against Cisco he played his hest ol many good games.
