'flu' fighting line produced powerful interference, of which the alert hackfield took every advantage. A mighty Eagle team rolled up the largest score niatle in the district hy completely overwhelming a light Big Spring eleven, T5-O, on Octoher T, Driving line plays and sweeping end runs hehind perfect interference were the main factors in creating the large score. Haskell fought to the last and showed more offensive strength than any other team the Eagles had met. The Eagles were a little weak on the defense. as was shown by the fact that Haskell made only ten first downs, THE RANGER CAME HE Eagles' first Class A game was an unexpectedly heavy victory over the Ranger Bulldogs. 33-0. Rangelfs passing attack was completely FIllHll'lt l'l Ll hy the splendid defense. Despite their 3550. Hangers passing attack was complete-ly smothered hy the splendid defense. Despite their ten first downs. the Bulldogs threatened only once. and then Kincaid knocked down a pass. The feature play was a spin play executed hy Sellers. who stepped through right guard for forty-five yards: hut the play was recalled for an offside. While the offense was very good. registering seyenteen first downs. the Eagles ontelassed the Bulldogs hy seven touchdowns. Our chances to win the District Championship were very hright after this defeat of Ranger. THE Et4STLt-IND CAME HE Eagles' offense. including the famous Walter to Salkeldu pass originated in the Eastland game. ran rougshod over Eastland's highly touted line to the tune of 32-2. Long end runs by Walter and Smith and twisting off-tackle plays hy Sellers bewildered the Mavericks' forward wall. Eastland scored a safety when Walter was pushed hehind his line after a muffed punt had rolled hack close to the line. HBulli' Johnson, with his hard line charges and long forward passes. constantly threatened hut never could approach the goal line.
