"Back to School, back to books, back to teacher's
dirty looks!" Another school year began just as usual with
all the trimmingseregistration cards lin triplicatel, new
books, locker assignments, new teachers, etc., etc. At first
some were lost, but in just a few short days everything
seemed all too normal again.

good clean fun!
A first for ACHS this year was the possibly annual
"Senior Pig Chase". lt was accompanied by a country pep
rally given by the cheerleaders. They did an excellentjob
of putting us in a hillbilly mood. Students dressed in
"western duds', and then those who were brave enough
participated in chasing the greased pigs in a mud hole
outside the gym.
The winners were Reinette Morgan and Carol
McCann. Their prize was two free steak dinners and two
passes to a movie.

a little work, a little play
and a lot of fun
That's what this year's Halloween carnival consisted
of. Sponsored by the Student Council, each class and
several organizations had booths. There was a food booth,
a spook house, a dunking booth, and several ring tosses to
name only a few. Some made money, some didn't, but
one thing was sure-everyone involved had lots of fun.

t-shirts and jeans
i Even though it's not exactly the center of high fashion,
le ACHS campus did keep pace with a few of the trend
ltting fashions of 1974 and 75.
Knee length and longer skirts could be found on a few
yrls as well as scarves around their necks and various types of
ooded tops. Big, clunky shoes were popular and few heels
iere less than three or four inches.
But the favorite was definitely blue jeans worn with any
nd of t-shirt or top. Almost every team or club has t-shirts
' jerseys of their own which could be seen all over school.

Panthers,
We've taken on some new teachers, added a few rules,
supplied many new faces, and turned out a really fine year.
Our spiritual union has stayed at an all time high, due to
some really good chapels. Our winning teams, with the
addition of football, have really added something great to
the year. l'm sure we've all benefited from this year-
spiritually, academically, and physically.

78fspirit week
kids, characters, and spirit
Spirit Week was particularly significant this year, since it pre-
ceded our first annual Homecoming.
Every day of the week was something different-kid's dayg char-
acter dayg 50's dayg red, white and blue dayg etc. Elton john, Alice
Cooper, the Pointer Sisters, and others could all be seen roaming the
halls.
On Friday the pep rally brought the week to a climax and really
got everyone in the spirit for our victory over Lubbock Christian
that night.

panther spirit
This year during pep rallies, Bennett Gym
rang as students revealed theif 6HIhUSi21Sm for both
their teams and their school.
Cowboys, clowns, jumping beans, pinkies, and
green weenies could all be found at one time or
another during the year. The cheerleaders always
managed to come up with new ideas and kept
things pretty lively while cheering the panthers on
week after week.
