When the One Great Scorer comes to write against your name— He marks - not that you won or lost — but how you played the game. Granthand Rice TIGER TRACKS ABERDEEN HIGH SCHOOL ABERDEEN, IDAHO VOLUME 61, 1978 WE DEDICATE I would be true, for there are those that trust me; I would be pure, for there are those who care; I would be strong, fo' there is much to suffer; I would be brave, for there is much to dare. I would be friend of all - the lost - the friendless; I would be giving, and forget the gift; I would be humble, for I know my weakness; I would look up - and laugh - and love - and lift. H. A. Walters Members of the class of 1978 know how lucky they were to have enjoyed the friendship of Mrs. Gayle Ralphs for three years. We will never forget her concern for us and her way of making us happy. We miss her very much, and we want to dedicate our yearbook to her memory. 2 OFF THE RIM GO BACK TO START SUCCESSFUL BLOCK GO FOR- WARD ONE SPACE OFF SIDES DISCARD HERE VICTORY AHEAD GO FORWARD FOUR SQUARES FOOTBALL Coached By Craig Gladwell, Brian Poll, Larry Kimura, DeLynn Halford CAPTAINS: First row: Phil Christiansen, Brent Barlow, Dennis Wasia, Joey Christiansen. All week long preparations were being made. Coaches and players were practicing for the big game. Decorations were rising in halls and gym, and floats were being erected in old cellars across town. On Thursday night, quite a spark of spirit was lit at the snake dance and bonfire. Friday morning opened to the Freshmen becoming initiated, diapered, and costumed by the Seniors. Later the football team received lots of support at the pep assembly. That afternoon, the main attraction at the parade was sixteen, lovely girls atop the class floats. Hunting season opened that night with the Cardinals, but no one got the limit with a score of 0-0. Dennis Wasia was chosen outstanding player of the game. After a week of competition, the Seniors captured the spirit stick. The finale of the week was the Homecoming dance. President Karen Bliss led the Pep Club in decorating. Tammy Treasure was crowned queen. Her attendants were: Wendy Wahlen- Junior, Lu Ann-Wynn-Sophomore, and Beth Whyte-Freshman. After the week was through, the teachers relaxed, and the students went back to school, but the excite- ment remained. 17 Abo y $yrticr carni i«Caty . $cpfcr' cry ca K i cates a y tcri ayrty, $ar cr 5 c LuA r W nr anc Jolyo touta . $yoicr candidates ary Tirta Shylrrta Ja Fester, Tamrny Ti-ya yry, and J'eamny CM u T ? : y rt rrt ary Fryjtfwnart arfid!
