Where did all the good-looking and talented girls come from? Is this what AHS is producing? Just a few of the questions asked by the awe-stricken audience who attended the Jr. Miss pageant and watched twelve lovely girls do their things. This year the twelve girls who vied for the title of Jr. Miss were Sheri Poulson, Bettilee McPeek, Elaine Hiebert, Debbie Fehringer, Janiel George, Corinne Taylor, Debbie Thompson, Jocelyn Wallace, Karen Bartholoma, Kathy Davidson, Pam Hurd, and Valerie Christiansen. Eachdid anoutstanding job and all were winners in the eyes of their judges. Debbie Fehringer was named Aberdeen’s Jr. Miss, as well as Poise and Appearance and Youth Fitness winner. Corinne Taylor was 1st runner up. Kathy Davidson received 2nd runner up, as well as Scholastic and Creative and Performing Arts awards. Karen Bartholoma was voted by the girls as spirit of Jr. Miss. Man of La Mancha the sound of an impossible dream come true An outstanding event of this or any other year was the Music Department's production of MAN OF LA MANCHA. Directed by David Quistad and ac- companied by a 16-piece orchestra and Kathy Davidson at the piano, the two-night event broke all attendance records. Richard Adams sang the title role, with tremendous companion performances by Susan Nelson, Layton Anderson, Monte Pierce, John Bollwinkel, Melanie Pratt, Diane Farnsworth, Vickie Westover, Marie Duffin, Vicki Larsen, Diane Adams, and many others, all excellent. Orchestra members were: Cheryl Isaak, Jocelyn Wallace, Chris- tine Johnson, Denise Davidson, Jan Vollmer, Krys Kendell, Vic- ki Tieszen, Don Klempel, Arlynn Hammond, JD Hiebert, Tim Satterfield, Russell Klempel, David Wedel, Virginia Larsen, Janie 1 George, and Brett Gonzales.
