This year ed the founding of the Hi Fi's, pictured left, the first use of the black folders, IMEA convention, and new instrument stor- age racks. The clarinet quartet, the saxophone quartet, and the flute trio won superior ratings at District Festival. The flutes had the distinction of being the only flute trio in 5th and 6th districts to win this rating and thus compete at State. The woodwind quartet performed for the Christmas concert.
