The Old . . Built in 1928 this building served as the home of the high school student body until this year when the students trans- ferred to the new. The old building proved too small to house the growing student body and now serves as the junior high school. This was the first high school to be built in Aberdeen and at the time was thought to be adequate to allow for growth of the community. The planners underestimated the increase in population. Hence, in 1950, plans were drawn up and the contract awarded for a new high school building which was completed in November of 1950. 5

DEDICATION The 1951 AVE ET VALE is dedicated to the new and the old high school buildings. Farewell to the old where we spent three wonderful year s...where we worked to prepare ourselves for the future...where we learned co-operation through social activities and sports... where we made many unforgettable friendships. Hail to the new where we spent our last, most memorable year in high school... where we experienced one of the most thrilling moments of our lives--our grad- uation.
